(commenting on a recent EnChor performance)
EnChor is a wonderful choir. Diane Loomer only has wonderful choirs. The unique delight that EnChor offers is that the singers are so experienced. The quality is simply superb and they have the best leadership from one of the finest choir conductors in the world.

A joyous snippet of the Italian
Baroque. Viadana’s popular psalm setting Exultate Justi,
emphatically rendered by EnChor.
Benjamin Britten's Rejoice
in the Lamb was a work EnChor’s singers could get their teeth into, and they
visibly savoured the opportunity to present this quirky masterwork of the
modern choral repertoire.

Youths sing of the agonies and ecstasies of their age; but we are different.
We have years of experience and expertise in many fields. In our lives we have soared with success and been challenged by unimaginable problems. We have experienced the joys and rashness of youth, the thrills and falls of ambition, the happiness and agonies of aging. We have held new generations in our arms and buried old ones. We have been to every part of the world and lived in many cultures We have experienced both love and rejection, hope and despair. We have walked in bright light, and struggled through impenetrable darkness. We have lived. Of all this we sing.

EnChor, an auditioned SATB choir, was formed in the summer of 2007 by its Artistic Director, Dr. Diane Loomer, C.M., to encourage "senior singers" to continue to use their talents, sharpen their brains and “keep them off the streets on Friday mornings.”
EnChor has succeeded beyond her dreams. Within three years our reputation earned us an invitation to Podium 2010, the biennial gathering of Canada's leading choral conductors, and entrée to the renowned invitation-only international choral festival, Festival 500 Sharing the Voices 2011 in St. John's Newfoundland.
During our 2010-11 season, in addition to regular performances at retirement homes and care facilities, we once again joined the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra for their annual series of 14 Traditional Christmas concerts. For Thanksgiving we presented, for the third year, Over the River and Through Woods with the Vancouver Children's Choir. Our final show of the season was entitled Newfoundland Bound, and showcased our repertoire for Festival 500. We also were invited to be part of the 2011 summer concert program of VISI (the Vancouver International Song Institute).
Please check the "Concerts" page for details of our 2011-12 season.
Audiences everywhere are charmed, not only by the excellence of the choir, but by the unabashed joy exhibited by the singers and the conductor as they perform.
